Carica is an endemic plant in Indonesia which only grow in Dieng Plateu, Central Java, Indonesia. Many food industries there produce Carica drink and it becomes an iconic drink from Dieng, Indonesia. And for years, carica food industries discarded by-product, Carica seed. In 2024, carica industries produced 700-800 MT (metric tons) carica waste/ by-product. And it becomes environmental issues.

In 2018, Erika Simangunsong, Founder Laverbe had her calling to overcome the environmental issues in Dieng, Wonosobo-Central Java and started her research on processing carica seed into valuable cosmetic ingredient, Carica Seed Oil.

And in 2025, Laverbe starts the journey as the first Upcycled Beauty brand in Indonesia.
